Friday Fun!

Miss Molly bought a fish on her lunch hour today, and treated us by bringing it in to show the toddlers. They were so excited and kept saying "fish" and made the fish face. I'm thinking of getting one myself for the classroom. Who knew just a simple beta fish could be so much fun!

This afternoon we had fun with creamer bottles that I have been saving for quite sometime, and pom poms, and pipe cleaners. They all worked really hard getting their sticks into the holes. After they finished the kept saying "I did it!" I was so proud of them!

Rainy Day Fun In The Toddler Room!!!

So I'm always looking for good deals on my Amazon Prime, well anyway I found a toddler parachute for only $10. I figured I could share it with the 2's also. We have ball pit balls that we shook around. The laughter of them all was priceless. I'm glad they liked it made my purchase much more appreciated.

Last year I remember doing these caterpillars using stamp pads but since the I couldn't find them, I thought I'd be brave and do paint instead. They actually turned out better I think and are so cute!

Exploring with Sensory!

Today we explored with pink sand and glue. I put the sand in a cookie sheet and let them sprinkle their glue with it. Lots of them just dug their hands in it, I'm sure it felt really good! Sometimes I wish our childcare center had a sandbox for the kids to play in.

We are getting ready for some new spring artwork, which included some footprint art because their little feet are so cute and so fun to keep for a memory!

Talking about birds this morning made us want to go outside for a walk, we were going to go play on the slides and climbers but it was a little windy out so we thought we would take one lap around the center in the wagon and stroller. They liked getting out and experiencing a new surrounding. We thought we would have a few that looked like they would fall asleep!

Of course we had to paint with lotion this afternoon, they are getting so good at not eating it! They know exactly what it is and what to do with it!

Welcome Spring!

We are loving this weather! Still a bit chilly, but it's been nice to get the toddlers outside to run around in the grass! We will be going for many walks next month! It's been fun watching the baby bears run and play on the grassy hill near our playground.

This morning we painted our classroom windows with water. I cut out different colored shapes of foam and let them stick it to the windows. I was surprised at how great it stuck and stayed on throughout the day. Great fine motor activity for them!

I had planned for Art and Sensory to glue fruit loops onto paper. I really don't know what I was thinking because it just didn't go over well. I caught one of them dipping their cereal into glue and eating it. So instead we just threw out their papers and talked about the colors instead, and I let them have a second snack!

Miss Molly bought us fun little bubble bottles and we went outside this afternoon and scribbled with our chalk. They also had fun following their shadows!

We are going to the bathroom once a week to wash our hands. We decided since we are going to have some 2 year olds next month that we would let them try and sit on the potty. As you can see it is a learning process! We read the potty books all the time! They even got a sticker for sitting on the potty!

Water Color Painting and Thursday Fun!

Brought back out the water color paints to paint with! Looking for our paint shirts instead of having their shirts off but they were in the laundry. As you can see some of the toddlers wanted blue and green bellies.

After nap time today, we watched a short 4 minute clip on trucks on my laptop. Apparently we can sit through that because they were all fighting over who could stand in front of it. So we will have a pajama party and snack and movie day next month!

After we came inside from playing outside on the grassy hills. We had to get ready for finger painting with applesauce, so of course we had to have our afternoon dance party! This is just a preview of some of the toddlers moves!

Then later this afternoon we finger painted with applesauce! They loved it and were each stealing each others paint!

Every toddler is an artist!

I love babysitting when I get the chance, espically babysitting this toddler Avery. I love that she knows that I bring a bag full of fun activites to do with her including paint!

We had fun painting on the floor because I just knew she would be messy! She was doing really good at staying on the paper and then she started painting her tummy and legs.

I gave her a wash cloth to clean up, She did a pretty good job but in the end we just had a bath afterwards!

Just remember, if you ever need a babysitter. I'm more than happy to babysit, as you can see we have a lot of fun together!!!

Shaving Cream Finger Painting

Miss Molly made these with the toddlers on Monday. So cute and creative! I love them!

We made these shamrocks today!

We had a busy day today. We played outside twice this morning and this afternoon for about 15 minutes each. The toddlers were so tired they didn't even make it for our goodnight story books before nap time. They all went to sleep as soon as we got into the classroom after lunch.

This afternoon we finger painted with shaving cream. I helped the toddlers take off their clothes to put their paint shirts on. A few of them are starting to undress themselves! Such an accomplishment!

First they had to wash the table with their sponges!

Next we were ready to smell like our Daddy's!

After we were finished painting, Jack was being helpful and washing off his friends with his washcloth! Thanks Jack!

Busy Day's just make the Baby Bears so sleepy!
