Messy Sensory Play, Diggin in dirt!

So this sensory tub that we did today was not on the lesson plan, playing with yellow play dough was, but when I couldn't find any anywhere this was the second best to do. In which the Baby Bears loved every moment of it. Now mind you, Miss Molly and I didn't think to take the toddlers clothing off before we did this. I don't really know what we were thinking they wouldn't get messy! They did, it stuck to them like dust. They were covered in it. We used brownie batter mix, I put little toy cars in the tub so they could drive them around. Not until the end that they realized they could eat it and then the kept saying, MMM  Chocolate, Chocolate!

Thankfully Miss Molly volunteered to take them to the bathroom's to wash their hands and faces so I could vacuum up the room. Here is the room after the messy play! Lets just say it was everywhere! Who knew 6 toddlers could create such a mess!

We will be doing this again soon! But perhaps outside on a nice day!

DIY Toddler Games!

I purchased colored pom-pom's, colored pipe cleaners and we used our pink milk caps that we have collected. I took some wipe containers and took the lids off to use as a sorting box.

The toddlers loved this! They all did this for a half and hour. They had such fun making a mess, and picking them and putting them in their containers. We worked on counting their items!

We've done more art this week for some reason! We worked on their paper skills to see how many little pieces of paper we could tear up, we then glued them down to the paper and patted it to make sure it stayed. They liked that part the best!

I would just like to say, I took the Baby Bears outside this morning to play in the snow, because it was so nice out, tonight reminds us that winter is not over yet! Anyway, we played outside for a good 25 minutes, with a break on changing our mittens to dryer ones for additional play.

And because of that they all took great naps! I had to wake them up at 1:50pm. And most of them went down at 11:20am. Some of them couldn't even stay awake for our bedtime story books!

This afternoon we invited the Fluffy Duck Two's over for some pudding finger painting. Now, I wasn't going to undress the 2's just my four. But these Ellie and Gavin got so excited they couldn't wait for the paint shirts! So then we just decided everyone would go without paint shirts!

Snow play and scribbles!!!

To think I was going to call in sick today, for having horrible side ache pains, which I"m still having, not quite as sharp but still there. Turned out to be a good day! We are getting faster at putting on the kiddo's snow gear and getting out to play in the snow. We were only outside 10 minutes today just to burn off some energy! But they had a lot of fun as you can see!

After we came back inside we played for a little bit, and then brought our colors out to scribble with. Working on holding crayons with them is a great fine motor skill!

Jack is a dedicated coloring with his crayons. While Lola is excited there was a pink crayon in the box!

Working hard!!!

We are working on sharing the crayon's, but they may have had a discussion on it!

After they worked it out, they were much happier!

Lola has to have all the crayon's out of the box, to finish her masterpiece!

Jack is working hard on his rainbow of colors!

Mason prefers to examine his colors before he scribbles!

They weren't up to his satisfaction!

You should have heard them earlier but we had quite a few lion growls in the classroom today, so much that even the 2's next door were growling!

Play Time is so much fun!

They have been so proud of their stickers that they have to show me every time we are in the cozy corner!

But lets not forget, Shoes are a lot of fun too!

More Art Please!

The Baby Bears love to finger paint, especially with paints, I use the crayola finger paints because they wash off so good. I scored a set at Target for $2.50 this weekend because the box had fallen apart, SCORE!
