Busy Activities in the toddler room!

I try and do crayons once a week, even if it's not coloring with them. They like transferring them in and out of their little cups. It's a lot harder to make markings on the paper with these sort of crayons, but nether less it's a great fine motor activity!

When it's too chilly to go outside and play, what better way to destroy the classroom with yellow streamers. These guys had a lot of fun throwing them in the air, wrapping friends up in them and unraveling them.

We were working on pointing to our eyes, ears, nose, hair etc:, Then I said open up your listening ears, this is what I get instead!

During Bible time in the mornings, whoever's Birthday it is, they get to stand up on the chair and we all sing Happy Birthday to them. Apparently these boys really wanted to implement the act!

Painting with a paint brush!

Clearly, it's been awhile since we've last painted. Apparently we need to paint weekly because the 2 out of the 4 thought it was edible paint because they kept trying to eat it every time I would wipe their faces. After about the 2nd time of doing it, we were finally done.

Sticky Snow Cone Fun!

When Miss Jennie brought us in our snow cones I was hesitant about eating them in the classroom. Thankfully we were finger painting with lotion today so they were already undressed. I was surprised by how much they actually ate, and when it was done, they were done! They did not like spilling it on themselves, they got a little carried away with the box of Kleenex but it was some good Friday fun!

Playtime in the toddler room is so much fun!

Our finger painting masterpieces turned out great for Mother's Day! Even had to create a LOVE one!

I was surprised they wanted to dress up, this normally takes us forever in the winter time to get everyone gathered up putting hats and mittens on. So next year this bunch should do really well getting ready!

We love using markers to scribble with!

We take cleaning very seriously!

This afternoon we got a chance to go outside, little did we know we got stuck out in the rain. I have to say, the toddlers haven't mastered running in the grass yet. We are still working on walking up and down the grassy hill.

Outside Water Play In May!!!

Wow, those were some high temps today for the month of May! I lathered the toddlers all up in sunscreen and put white paint shirts on them for water play. I'm sure glad I purchased the water table for them to play with, they enjoyed transferring the water from their cups to the different buckets. And who knew washrags would be such a hit!

Talissa had fun squeezing out her washrags in the water, she spent most of her time doing this! We know she will be great helper someday with helping mommy do the laundry!

Lola was all about taking drinks during water play today. She might have gotten a piece of grass in her mouth during the process!

Mason was the rock collector, transferring his rocks to different cups. He dipped them in the water, looked at them and put them back in his cups!

Jack was happy  just playing with the others. And taking buckets away to put more things in.

Every child is an Artist!

We were supposed to finger paint with vanilla green and yellow pudding paint, but being in a new room I didn't want to take the chance for someone to get something messy and not knowing where their boundaries were at. So we did water color painting instead!

Since we can't go outside because of the rain, we do art twice a day. Oh how they are so great using markers on paper!
