Celebrating being 1!

It's not everyday we celebrate a friends birthday turning one years old, but on Friday we did!

We sang the birthday song until my memory card got full. You can see she is more interested in kicking her feet in her chair rather than the actual song, so cute!

Birthday treats are still a big thing, and since they were already messy we decided to make it even messier by finger painting with cool whip.

Milking a Cow

We milked a cow today, well as best as we knew how too!

Tomorrow we will finger paint with cool whip it just didn't happen this afternoon.

After lunch we had some fun playing with the monkey puppet and some doing finger plays!

I setup the table differently for meal times, this seems to be better that they can all see each other and I can sit in the middle and eat with them.

Sleepy Days

It's funny with these younger toddlers I now have I'm not used to having half my class fall asleep before lunch. We've let some of our toddlers take a morning snooze but we've realized that some of them won't sleep then during our long nap after lunch. So if your little one falls asleep just know after 20 minutes we will wake them up. The first few weeks will be tiring on them since we do a lot of different activities throughout the day!

We took our toddler pictures, I love taking pictures and take more pictures of my toddlers than my family so you know that I love what I do! Every picture I ever take you will get a copy and at the end of the year when they move up to the two year old classroom you will get a dvd slideshow of all the pictures I ever take of your child.

New skills we are working on

Today, we finger painted with blue paint we were going to use a sponge but I must have thrown them away when I was cleaning my classroom. Some of the toddlers liked it and some thought it was just awful that i was making them touch it. Come check out our classroom walls, I am finished decorating!

Miss Deb helped us try on fun costumes in the dress up corner.

You know it's a busy day, when two of the toddlers fall asleep at the lunch table...

On Wednesdays we play in the water, yesterday we worked on scooping up the water and dumping it out with little cups. We also took turns touching the sprinkler.

We love the outdoors!

I had a lot of fun with my Dad at the Iowa State Fair! Hope you all make it out to the fair there is so much to show your toddlers!

We had fun talking a walk this morning, most of our toddlers had sunhats but if you would like us to put one on your child please just leave it in their cubbies. We took some turns walking along side the wagon.

Then this afternoon we had fun playing outside on our playground!

Busy Week!

It has been one busy week, I've babysat every night and still can't make myself go to bed before midnight even though I'm drained, thankfully I can sleep in for an hour on Saturday then we have a full day's work of painting out classroom a new color.

I'm still uploading pictures to flash drives, so don't forget to bring yours in, I don't just have pictures I also have some video clips too! Our two year olds are adjusting to the 2's room this week. They are finding it difficult to adjust but I'm sure a couple of weeks into it, it will get better, I'm always a doorway away for a quick hug!

This week we had fun playing outside in the morning for water day, before the rain. The school agers were doing a slip n slide activity and stopped for a moment to let us try it out.

Friday, we are going to attempt to finger paint with ketchup and mustard as today was a little crazy. Wish us teachers luck, and don't be surprised if your child comes home smelling like cheeseburger!
