Snap, Crackle and Pop!

For our afternoon snack I had brought in rice krispies to eat. I had them listen to their rice krispies pop since that has been our word of the day today. We also worked on using our spoon to eat. We really encourage using a spoon at mealtimes. This is also a great fine motor activity to work on too!

Our Silly Toddlers...

Ever since our toddlers noticed the dress up center in the gym they have tried to wear hats in our classroom using buckets and out of anything. So Miss Abbie made them some unique style hats!

By now you should realize that most holiday's I like to dress up your little ones in fun hats. It shows off their personality. This is just a preview of the ones I took today.

Easy Art and Sensory time

I had been wanting to try this activity for sometime now and with snow on the ground I thought it was the perfect opportunity, and talk about an easy cleanup! I put about four of the same skittles in a cup and filled it up with water wait about 2 minutes and you have a color. This activity we did also determined how they were using water colors because this spring we will start painting with the water color pallets. They did excellent and no one even tried to eat them.

Water is essential for sensory play in either babies or toddlers. My toddlers love playing with baby dolls right now. We talk about feeding them, taking them to bed and giving them baths. So we decided it was time to give them a good cleaning with warm soapy water and wash clothes. They were so caring during this activity it was fun watching them play.

I made this cute little tractor footprint while I was babysitting over the weekend it turned out better than I thought! So we will be making this during our farm week with the baby bears.

Our Tasting Party!

We tasted pickles today, we felt the texture and tasted it. Surprisingly the baby bears like them.

So not sure how we did this on my camera, but I'm determined to find out what setting I had it on. Miss Abbie took some photos of the kids during our tasting party and it took a video instead. Enjoy!

Then of course there is always two that seem to enjoy the sour foods, hats off to them I don't even think I could eat a lemon without making a funny face!

Feet Painting!

This week we are learning about our 5 Senses. Today we learned about touch. We used our hands to stamp with cookie cutters and we used our feet to walk in paint. That was a whole other story, they weren't quite sure of that activity netherless they all walked in it to get to the other side to get cleaned up.

We ventured outside today, we decided to take a walk outside our playground in the deep snow. They did pretty well considering being very bundled up. And guess what? Nobody cried getting dressed today! Un-dressing was a whole other story!
