Stamping in paint..

I love doing this activity with the baby bears because it's so fun and its easy for them to do. Today I decided to use two paint colors. I took two friends with me to go pick out some colors and that's what we came back with. Now every time I take anyone to the gym with me to help they automatically go to the art supply room!

This afternoon we had fun playing in the sprinkler and painting with shaving cream at the picnic table.

Drinking from the hose is one of my favorite childhood memories... here's the ones that decided they would try it too!

This is just a random video clip I captured today after we came in from water play.

Chocolate Crossiants

Tonight I was in the mood for something sweet so I made a cup of coffee while these were baking. It's the easiest dessert to make and it tastes so good I might not have any left by the end of the week.

I just followed the instructions for the baking the premade croissants, then I placed as many chocolate chips as I wanted on them and rolled them up and baked them for 11 minutes. They turned out perfect!

Today I took my toddlers outside to play in the sprinkler and swimming pools. I even filled up the pools early this morning so the water would be warmer. Who would have guessed that on all the days I decided to take them out it would be chilly out. We maybe spent 25 minutes playing before they all started shivering so we headed back inside. Maybe we'll try again tomorrow.

Friday Finger Painting!

My all time favorite activity to do with my toddlers is finger paint with them. I love to watch them explore the different textures of paint.

For sensory time today I taped bubble wrap to our board and let them pop the bubbles. We also did the finger play, bubble bubble POP! Which they love!

Brown Sugar Chicken and Sweet Potatoes

Ingredients:3 chicken breasts
2 large sweet potatoes, peeled and sliced into 1/2 inch thick rounds
1 onion, sliced into rings
2 Tbs. brown sugar
1/8 c. orange juice
salt, pepper & cayenne pepper to taste

Place the chicken in the Crock Pot; season generously with salt and pepper. Top with the onion slices and then the sweet potatoes. Sprinkle the brown sugar evenly across the sweet potatoes and then pour the OJ on top of everything. Season the sweet potatoes well with salt and pepper, and a good sprinkle of cayenne pepper. (I make mine pretty spicy, which gives a nice edge to the sweet ingredients.) Cover and cook on high for 5 hours.

Cooling off in the hot weather...

This morning it was so hot that we only maybe spent 15 minutes outside just enough to burn off some energy after art time today, then we came inside and they all drank 1/2 of their water bottles to cool off.

This afternoon for our afternoon snack we sat outside and ate our snow cones. The Baby Bears aren't quite sure about shaved ice just yet but they had fun exploring the cold texture.

Who would of guessed that the Baby Bears loved finger painting with shaving cream. I would have thought someone would have tried to eat it but none of them did. I did say "Who wants to do art?" and they came running over. We haven't actually tried eating our art in awhile so that's probably why.

Splash Day + Art Fun!

Of course whenever I plan to do water outside everyday for our Ocean theme week it is either raining on too chilly to play in the water. So please just have their swim stuff or swim diapers here each day. We played in the water on Thursday this week instead. We practiced with small cups pouring and scooping out the water.

I'm not just the only one that likes dressing up my toddles they actually requested putting these on and they also love putting on shoes, gloves and hats!

We have these hanging all over our classroom right now, they love grasping onto the bingo dabbers and making dots.

And of course I had to make our Lobsters!

We have been working on the word "Turtle" this week, ask your toddler how to pronounce it they  say it very well!

We worked on our fine motor with play dough this week with our older toddlers. They had fun pushing the sea shells down into it. The younger ones just don't' quite understand this activity yet but they had fun watching.
