Working on our fine motor skills!

We have moved to the two year old classroom, we will probably be there for one month. We have several leaks in the roof that has caused our ceilings and our classroom walls to get all wet. The Baby Bears are having quite the adventure exploring the 2's classroom. We are loving dumping and refilling all of the different containers so fast that our teachers can hardly keep up!

Today we worked on a little fine motor. We used cups to dip in blue paint and stamp our papers. Then this afternoon we had fun ripping paper up in little pieces and gluing them down to orange papers. They love that part. Talissa didn't quite understand at first that it's OK to rip paper, she was being helpful and throwing the pieces away.

Berry Cottage Whip

This is sweet, health promoting, packed with protein and can be quickly whipped up for a snack, a dessert or even a full breakfast. I had this for breakfast this morning - delicious! Since I was using it as a full meal, I chose to use a full cup of cottage cheese to get more protein in to start my day.

*put ½ cup cottage cheese with ½ cup frozen berries in the food processor. (Any berry will work)
*Add sweetener, a dash of vanilla and a small pinch of salt.

* Splash of either almond milk or regular low fat milk, Process well.

Sticky Art!

This morning our art and sensory project was combined. We used tissue paper cut up pieces and and glue. I had them stick their pieces of paper onto the glue on their papers. It was fun watching them struggle to get theirs to stick.

Celebrating another birthday!!!

Wow'! Can't believe we have yet another 2 year old in our classroom. Where has time gone? Vinnie has certainly changed from baby to toddler to two year old. And yet I've been so blessed to watch him grow and learn! We had a lot of fun today! We had some new friends come and play with us. We wore party hats while we took some pictures. We blew party horns and ate birthday cookies. We even had a race car party with spinning tracks that made lots of noises! I'd say you had quite the busy day!

Since party balloons aren't quite a hit anymore, I got out noise makers! Who would of guessed those toddlers could actually make noise with those, Yup! they did! And they all loved it. As you can see Talissa and Jack were really working hard to get theirs to make sound!

Celebrating with birthday treats!!!

Rainy Days=Water Play!

Since we didn't get to go outside at all today, we played on the soft climbers this morning. Our sensory activity was so much fun that we went through a stack of papers. I dipped water color paint onto wet sponges and let them paint their papers with the sponge. Then this afternoon I got water play for our afternoon activity. I put water in plastic gloves, let them play with the sponges, we worked on squeezing both items.

Tomorrow we will celebrate Vinnie's birthday party, he will turn 2 on Saturday, but spending Friday with Mommy. I'm sure he'll be a little confused on his birthday day at school, either way we've made it special for him to enjoy.I will post pictures of the party tomorrow!
