We Love Going For Walks!

After we strolled down the parking lot once we decided to get out of the strollers and wagons and explore our green grass. We showed our toddlers flowers (weeds), acorns and sticks and how to pull pieces of the grass to hold in our hands.

My Happy Busy Toddlers!

Since it decided to lightly rain this morning we spent the day inside our classroom crawling in tunnels and climbing on soft climbers and of course Becky. I chased them around the room so that they could burn up all of their energy.

We were full of smiles today!!!

Introducing some new songs!

We are learning some new songs, the first song we learned was the "Color Song"  while visiting Miss Beth's Fluffy Ducks Classroom. They do this song everyday during their circle time.

Where Is Thumbkin? What a huge hit, I bet I sang it at least 10 times if not more.

This is called the "Shrinking Song" We do this song everyday during Bible in the mornings. Our toddlers really like doing the actions.

Updates!

Got back from Boston very late Sunday night luckily I wasn't very tired this morning at work despite a lot of our cranky toddlers that Miss Abbie and I dealt with today.

My Dad did very well at the Boston Marathon he even first time ever qualified for Boston next year. So next year, it will be his 8th time again! Looking forward to spending another weekend in Boston come next Spring! Very proud of him to finish in 3 hours and 54 minutes, I sure couldn't do that!

Miss Abbie did some really cute artwork that I had to post. The toddlers are loving Art and Sensory this month. It is fun for us to watch them explore different textures.

We finger painted with green and blue washable paints today, to help celebrate Earth Day!

I reorganized the room today because I felt like we needed a change. Hopefully the toddlers will adjust to their new surroundings as well.

Friday Fun!

This week we have been working really hard on using a paintbrush even with the younger toddlers are working on grasping it. They are doing very well and no one has tried eating the paint.

We worked on using glue sticks and patting down our feathers to our ducks. We all worked on what sound the ducks made.

Here are some cute clips!

Best Ever Balsamic Brussel Sprouts!!!

Ok, so I love Brussels sprouts so much that I could literally eat them for every meal. Try these you too will like them!

Roasting them at a high temperature with balsamic and a tiny bit of oil olive has them caramelize to perfection!  I am an experimenter in the kitchen so add or subtract the extras as you see fit.. use your inner chef's intuition!

Balsamic Brussels Sprouts:

Ingredients:

1 bunch of Brussels sprouts (approximately 4 cups)
1 TBSP olive oil *if more liquid needed try 1 TSP of veg or chicken broth!

1-2 TBSP balsamic vinegar

1- 2 garlic glove smashed

pinch of hot pepper flakes (optional)

salt and pepper to taste

Learning about Farm Animals!

This week we are learning about farm animals. I posted these pictures to our walls so we could practice pointing to the different noises each animal made.

We tried milking cows today using water filled rubber gloves. Some of them loved it and a few did not like it and wanted nothing to do with it.

Miss Abbie brought us in egg shaped chalk to color with outside. The baby bears love it, thanks so much!

Exploring hard and soft sensory today!

Thanks for all the birthday wishes yesterday, it's hard to believe I'm 31...

Since it has been so rainy outside this week we did some chalk fun indoors. I taught them how to pound their papers and make dots on their papers. So next time you do chalk with your toddler they might do that as well. They eventually got the hang of scribbling with the egg shaped chalk pieces and made scribbles on their papers. They were very content doing this activity and were fascinated with the chalk.

This afternoon we explored sand. I showed them how to raise their arms up and let the sand go out of their hands and down into the tub. However most of the sand got onto the tile flooring. We played with the sand for a good 10 minutes. We worked on opening and closing our hands while doing this activity.

I've noticed that my younger toddlers all sleep the same way...
