June Newsletter

Baby Bears

June, 2015

Dear Families,

June has finally arrived, and I am happy with the weather that we have had so far! Please remember to pack a light jacket for our morning outside times, as sometimes it is still a bit chilly out. Happy Birthday to Theo, who will turn 2 this month! We will celebrate with special treats and a birthday party.

We are excited for our splash water days. They will be each Wednesday. Please send a swimsuit, swim diaper, towel, and swim shoes. Please label all items that you bring into the classroom. The Baby Bears will get to explore small wading pools, the sprinkler, and water tables with sponges and water toys!

We have some fun activities planned for this month! But first, here are the themes we will have  in the month of June. We will spend two weeks on Transportation, then #1 Dad, and Under the Sea! We will be singing “Wheels on the Bus” and “Slippery Fish” with all the hand actions. We will be having our Pajama Day on June 19th!

I am really proud of the language that the baby bears are using. It is really becoming clear and constant. The children are learning to name people, places and things. We are using phrases such as “help, please”, “more, please”, “thank-you” and “sorry” to communicate needs. We are also reading and doing activities as a group to use language and to communicate. We have a small group at 10:30 a.m. where we sing songs and read books. We will be reading a couple of new books this month which will include Red Truck, Yellow Bus: A Book of Colors, Octopus Opposites and Spot Loves His Daddy.

Some fun activities we will do this month are paint with bubble wrap and do a happy feet dance on them, finger paint with chocolate pudding, and painting outside with water. We will also have many crafts to do for our dads for Father’s Day!

Love,
Miss Becky Stevenson
