Toddler Prayers

One of the things I enjoy the most about working for a Christian based childcare center is praying with my toddlers. Before each meal we all gather to the Noah's Ark rug and we circle around it and fold our hands. We've now have taught the toddlers to close their eyes and bow their heads. It's pretty cute having them try. Here is the prayer that we say:

"God is good, God is great! Let us thank him for our food, Amen!"

Here are a few other songs that I have found that I think we will be singing:

Pray, Pray, Pray (to the tune “Row, Row, Row Your Boat”)
Pray, pray, pray each day,
Morning, noon, and night.
When we talk to Jesus,
Everything’s all right.
Repeat

(to the tune “Mary Had a Little Lamb”)
Time to talk to Jesus now,
Jesus now, Jesus now.
Time to talk to Jesus now,
Quietly we’ll pray.
Time for us to fold our hands,
Fold our hands, fold our hands.
Time for us to fold our hands,
Quietly we’ll pray.
Time for us to bow our heads,
Bow our heads, bow our heads.
Time for us to bow our heads,
Quietly we’ll pray.

Fall Sensory Bin and Learning Activities

I love making themed sensory tubs for my toddlers, its a great way to explore everything, I received a ten dollar gift card to the Dollar Tree so I went and got the materials. Thanks again for the donation, the toddlers will have such a fun learning experience!

  • Fake fall leaves from the Dollar Tree
  • Large pine cones
  • Apple-shapes that you can take apart
  • Measuring cups and small buckets
  • Acorns in small plastic containers glued tightly.
  • Different colored large pom poms
  • Shovels
Language Development:
  • Name objects in the bin for toddlers and ask them to locate the objects.  As they are able, ask toddlers to pick up an object and name it.
  • Name the colors of objects in the bin.
  • Play “I Spy” with the toddlers by describing an object using its physical description (color, shape, size, texture).
Counting:
  • Choose a kind of object. Find all of those items in the sensory bin. Count how many in all.
  • Choose two different kinds of objects. Find all of those items in the sensory bin.
Sorting: Sort objects from the bin by:
  • Color
  • Shape
  • Size
  • Texture

Fall Walk...

I love taking group pictures of all the toddlers. The best thing about it is you see their personalities shining through!

On our walk this morning, beth saw a frog in the grass. Of course we had to show the toddlers. It was a jumpy little guy, as it tried to jump on some of them, but most of them liked it!

We of course had to let the toddlers walk around in the leaves outside on our walk. We've noticed some of them like to try and run away from us, lucky for them we are pretty quick on our feet too!

Picture Day!

Why is it that it always rains on picture days?! It was a very low key day today, nothing on the lesson plan really got done but for the most part they were all pretty happy. Not so much this morning, but it was a little scary I can imagine for some of them. They all slept so good at nap time that we ended up waking up half the class. Now, mind you I know I heard none of the toddlers crying during our group picture but we wanted to get a class shot of them looking so adorable in their outfits!

I took some individual shots of them all with their ages, they didn't turn out as good as I was hoping for, but nevertheless they are still pretty cute!

Apple Cinnamon Pumpkin Oat Muffins!

So last month in the mail I received a packet of OAT Revolution oatmeal. It's oatmeal where they have ground flax in the mix for some extra fiber and nutrition. I usually have oatmeal and coffee for my breakfast, I really like this oatmeal because it makes me feel full throughout the mornings. They have other flavors including, blueberry muffin, apple cinnamon (my favorite), pomegranate, and oatmeal raisin.

So I decided to make muffins out of these, for those fast and grab mornings.

Ingredients:
1 Cup Almond Flour
1 Cup Pumpkin Puree (100% pumpkin, no added sugar!)
1/4 Cup Almond Butter (or your choice of nut butter)
1/4 Cup Honey
2 Eggs
1 tsp. Baking Powder
1 tsp. Ground Cinnamon
1/2 tsp. Salt
2 Packages "Better Oats" Cinnamon Apple Instant Oatmeal

  1.  Preheat the oven to 350 degrees, grease a muffin pan. Whisk together all of the ingredients except for the oats.
  2. Fold in oats, stir to combine.
  3. Fill muffin cups about 3/4 full with batter. Batter will be thick- that's okay!
  4. Bake 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Apple Scented Play dough...

We finished our trees, instead of using q-tips, I dabbed their thumbs in a water color paint pallet and made the leaves, they still turned out pretty cute!

We love to play hide and seek in the toddler room, and I love hearing them giggle!

Our Tree Project Part 1

Miss Beth came up with a cute art project to do with the toddlers! We made hand and arm trees. Tomorrow we will get to use Q-tips and make leaves with fall colors.

We are quite proud of our toddlers, they all held very still and mostly opened up their hands so Miss Beth could paint them.

We have some fun new dance moves Lola and Mason want to show you, I'm so glad they enjoy my taste in music!

Were going on a nature walk...

We decided to take the toddlers to go find leaves, although we didn't really find any colored leaves they still had fun holding onto their green leaves, and finding sticks and pine cones.

We love creating new fall art! Miss Beth and I are a little addicted to finding cute hand and footprint art work, so we hope you enjoy them as well!
