Oodles of fun!!!

These noodles only took 30 minutes to color last night but I think they were worth the 45 minutes of playing with them. Some of the toddlers touched it and some didn't I'm sure you can guess by the pictures which ones didn't like it so much.

I put down two table cloths just in case it got onto the carpet, sure was glad I did. They loved scooping out the noodles and putting them all over the table and onto the floor.

Getting all our messy sensory projects done this week, tomorrow we will get to finger paint with pumpkin pudding! The Baby Bears were very cranky this morning, I was hoping a good nap out of all of them but that was just wishful thinking. They did however have a great afternoon so I guess all in all it made up throughout the day.

What better way to teach music than play music. We worked on singing "la, la, la" and making noises using our mouth. I even brought in my ukulele so they could use their fingers to make sound. Most of them fought over who was going to play it first, it had to go up for awhile because we just couldn't take turns. I was so glad it was so popular though!

Thankfully Mouse books are so popular with the baby bears that I've ordered Christmas books for our classroom. The book, It's Pumpkin Day, Mouse is just such a popular book that we read it daily. During our story time I let the toddlers each pick out their favorite book to read. Granted this book was hidden away in the back of the bookshelf, but Theo found it and we of course had to read it.

Exploring colored play-doh...

I forgot to buy cornstarch yesterday to make the goop for today, so I will have to stock up on cornstarch when I go out tonight. We did however have lots of fun exploring the play-doh today. I rolled it into long worm shapes. I showed the toddlers how to rip it up and poke their fingers in it.

Our Cutest Moments:

(Just a heads up, the pictures posted on our cutest moments wall in our classroom are different from what I post on here.)

When your child moves to the 2 year old classroom, all the pictures I ever take of your child will go onto a DVD slide show that I will create with music that you will receive.

Happy Friday!

I have some very happy toddlers today!!!

This morning the 2's invited us to come along on a pine cone picking adventure. We had to take the wagon as some of them aren't quite fast enough to walk with with the 2's.

Since it was to wet outside to play, we decided to make our own fun inside our classroom. I made a fort out of our foam tiles and brought out the tunnel. We played for almost 45 minutes in them!

I must have wore them out because another teacher told me while I was on my break that they were to sleepy to read our goodnight books before their naps. I hope they take good naps today, I need to finish up next week's lesson plan.

Our dress up themes for next week!

Monday: All Mixed Up

Tuesday: Your Favorite Character

Wednesday: Pajama Day

Thursday: Your Favorite Team

Friday: Our Halloween Party, Bring Costumes to wear!

Exploring the inside of the pumpkin

Well we decided last minute to eat our afternoon snack in our classroom because after that we were going to cut open our pumpkin and it was going to be messy! We ate fruit pizza cookies.

Our Little Cookie Monsters!!!

This is the group that did not like touching the pumpkin goop, we made each child just touch it to explore it.

Our other group loved it, we did not expect them to like it as much as we had thought. Chance and Teagan even climbed inside the sensory table to better explore their surroundings. Mason came back from being in the 2 year old room to dig right into the fun!

Since we read the book daily it was only right to make a craft out of the book "It's Pumpkin Day, Mouse!"

Remember to check our bulletin board for fun things to wear next week. We are ready to celebrate Halloween fun!

My little pumpkins!

The baby bears are finally learning the word "pumpkin". We've been playing hide and seek with the pumpkins, doing lots of fun pumpkin art activities and tomorrow we will get to explore the inside of one.

My twistable crayons came yesterday in the mail, the only place I can now find them is on Amazon.com, but I love using them with my toddlers because they can grasp the crayons and barely touch the paper and they make marks with them.

Of course we all had to take a picture with our big pumpkins. Some of them loved the pumpkins and others weren't quite sure what to think.

Edible Pumpkin Pie Play Dough

I found this on Pinterest and had to make this for a sensory project this week, how great that it is edible too!

2 tablespoons pumpkin flavored coffee creamer (the liquid kind)
2 cups of powdered sugar, divided
food coloring
2 tablespoons of oil (vegetable or olive oil both work)

Add 2 tablespoons of the pumpkin flavored coffee creamer to the bowl and slowly mix 1 cup of powdered sugar into it. It will turn into frosting like. Add the 2nd cup of powdered sugar and keep mixing until it becomes dough-like. It is helpful to use a stand mixer if you have one.

Once it started to form a crumbly dough add the oil. It will make it nice and shiny and help to soften it.

Friday Fine Motor

The toddlers had fun playing with big and small pom poms in muffins tins, pop bottles and little cups today. This is great activity when you use pom-poms because you can do so many things with them. We introduce different colors and the talk about their sizes.

We had a pajama day last minute decision yesterday, some of the toddlers wore their jammies today. Next Friday we will have another pajama day because we will have some glow fun right after nap time. Does anyone have skeleton pajamas? I think those are darling!
