Baby Bears

October, 2014

Dear Families,

Welcome to Fall! It’s the month for football, pumpkins, and enjoying the beautiful colors of God’s creation. We will continue to have our sports Fridays, so please dress your little ones in their favorite football team attire. Also, a reminder to restock your child’s bin with seasonal clothing, a jacket, and hat, as we have been going out on occasional morning walks.
Most of our activities this month will focus on Art and Sensory. Most of you may know, but Art and Sensory are my favorite times of the day with the Baby Bears. It’s not just about making a mess and getting dirty; it is an essential component of learning that encourages exploration and discovery through play.

Some fun projects this month will include finger painting with pumpkin pudding, exploring the inside of a pumpkin, touching cold wet noodles in the sensory tub with bugs, exploring small and big pumpkins, and ghost footprints, as well as many more fun activities! Be sure to check out the lesson plans located on the bulletin board outside our classroom for many more updates! And be sure to check out our blog for lots of fun pictures! http://cookingandcuddling.blogspot.com/

We will also be reading three new books this month: “It’s Pumpkin Day, Mouse “Llama Llama Trick or Treat”, and “5 Little Pumpkins”. We also have a new collection of Halloween books on our bookshelf; We already have some favorites hidden away in there! And of course we won’t forget our fun music time this month. We will be dancing/rocking to “Monster Mash” and “Shake your Bones.”

We will be celebrating our Halloween party at the end of the month. Please bring a Halloween costume for your little one to wear. We will dress them up and take a group picture, along with a picture with a pumpkin as a gift from me! We will parade them to other classrooms to show them off! We will also celebrate by eating pumpkin muffins for our afternoon snack. Please check our daily board for the date!

Have a safe and Happy Halloween!

Miss Becky
